ADAS calibration after windshield replacement
Advanced Driver Assistance Systems may use a camera mounted near the windshield. When the windshield is replaced, the vehicle manufacturer may require calibration.
Features that may rely on the camera
Examples include lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, forward-collision warning, traffic-sign recognition, adaptive cruise control, and automatic emergency braking.
Static and dynamic calibration
Depending on the vehicle, calibration may use stationary targets, a prescribed road-driving procedure, or both. Requirements vary by year, make, model, and installed equipment.
